It was 1969 when the founders of Gelats Soler, Albert Soler and Pilar Miguel, arrived in Badalona with the aim of looking for work, but with the idea of teaching and raising awareness about their craft through their products. This is where the process of mixing ingredients in different ways to represent the culinary traditions of Xixona and Catalonia began. At first, this led to the founding of the current Gelateria Soler on Carrer de Francesc Layret, which makes horchata and granizados. After a few years and a great reception from the locals, Gelats Soler opened a new store on a bustling street, Carrer de Mar, and later another in the town of Montgat.
After that the aim of Gelats Soler became understanding what its public wanted and becoming consummate professionals in their craft. In 2004, at the beginning of the summer season, Gelats Soler launched production in its new and modern facilities in one of the city’s industrial business estates. Moving to the new workplace helped to expand and consolidate Gelats Soler’s expertise and know-how.
